Discover our Dylyn carbon coating!

Coating with black colour is based on carbon. The coating is made by the process of Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition (PACVD). During this process, chemical reaction is caused by plasma excitation and ionization. Optimum quality and performance is ensured by coating in a clean environment under vacuum conditions.

Due to the friction coefficient which is approximately half of that for typical PVD coatings, Dylyn has outstanding anti-adhesion properties. Additionally, this coating offers very good corrosion protection. Can be applied for punch forming parts to prevent sticking of the product to the punch concave during tablet compression process.

As this coating has almost three times higher surface hardness in comparison to the hard chrome coating is very effective with preventing the punches from the premature wearing and prolong their lifetime. However, due to relatively modest thickness Dylyn should not be used for very abrasive materials.

Attention!

Dylyn should not be used for very abrasive materials.

Features:

Micro hardness – 2 200 HV
Relative friction coefficient  - 0,05 – 0,1
Coating thickness  1 – 3 µm

Increased wear resistance

Tools for tablet pressing are covered with various coatings for the purpose of increasing the surface hardness grade, obtaining higher abrasion resistance and lowering the friction coefficient and the propensity of tools to seizure as well as achieving higher corrosion resistance and anti-adhesive properties.
